Cruising South America
South America Ports

Caracas
The capital of Venezuela is a vibrant, surging South American city. Caracas has all the characteristics of a big city, such as great restaurants, posh hotels, theatre, museums, nightlife, and more! It’s one of the most popular gateway into and out of South America.
Buenos Aires
Calle Lanin is beautiful little street in the barrio of Barracas, in the south of Buenos Aires. If you are going to La Boca to see the colorful and historical Caminito street, then you might also consider taking the time to explore some of the neighboring barrio of Barracas, where you will find the quieter, shady, yet extremely colorful Lanin. (Don’t try this at night, it’s not really a safe place for tourists to be after dark). The murals there, created in the year 2000 by local artist Marino Santa Maria (who actually lives on this street), are definitely worth the trip to take a look.

Lima (Callao)
Ships visiting Lima dock in Callao, the country's principal port. Old homes, an 18th-century fortress and a naval museum are among attractions in Callao. Visitors often head to La Punta Beach or sail to one of the nearby islands for nature-watching. Callao and Lima blend to form a metropolitan area that is home to more than one-fourth of the country's population. Lima's capital boasts several impressive museums, such as the Museo de Oro del Peru with its collections of gold, silver and precious stones. Other noteworthy sights include markets, plazas and colonial buildings. Lima is the gateway for tours to Machu Picchu, the "Lost City of the Incas" that sits high in the Andean peaks.
Manta
Manta is a major commercial and holiday resort center and is the second major Port of the country behind Guayaquil.
The evenings see a hive of activity of partying people, loud music and meandering cars that form around the nearby side streets and main frontage of the Malecón that arcs around the bay. Bathed in constant fresh winds the Malecón is always a pleasant area to walk in the evening and most refreshing in the night breezes.
Montevideo
One of South America's most beautiful capitals, Montevideo meaning "I see a mountain" in Potuguese is simply divine. The city has an old and new town featuring many historical sites as well as restuarants, cafes, nightclubs and casinos.
Rio De Janeiro
The luxury hotels contrast with the poverty of the favelas (shanty towns), but in Rio all it takes to feel happy is a beer on the beach, music, a jog along the promenade at Copacabana, the samba sounds of Carnival or a local football (soccor) team victory.
Santos
The city center is a maze of back streets and alleyways, with most businesses being concentrated around the port. There are more than 250 miles of coastline of sand and rocks, small inlets and even an area that looks like the Mediterranean riviera.
